How to Place an Order
Placing your order with The Magnificent Wine Company is simple and convenient. Please follow these six easy steps:
- Select your shipping state from the SHIP TO menu
- Select The Magnificent Wine Company products by clicking "add to cart"
- Log-in or create a new account
- Enter your billing information
- Enter your shipping information
- Confirm your order
To ensure that your order is processed in a timely fashion, please review the following information:
Legal Age Requirement. All wine is being sold by The Magnificent Wine Company. Wine may be sold and delivered only to a person who is at least 21 years old. By virtue of your order with The Magnificent Wine Company you represent to us that you are at least 21 years old and the person to whom any wine will be delivered is also 21 years old. At the time of delivery, any shipment containing an alcohol beverage product will require the signature of an adult possessing valid picture identification issued by a government agency proving he or she is at least 21 years old
Preventing Underage Purchases:
AN ADULT SIGNATURE IS REQUIRED BY LAW FOR ALL DELIVERIES!
If no one is available to receive the package, a subsequent attempt
to deliver will be made. We encourage you to use a commercial business
address such as your office to assure the fastest delivery time. If
subsequent attempts are unsuccessful, your order will be returned to
the logistics center it originally shipped from. An additional fee will
apply to reship undeliverable packages.
The Magnificent Wine Company recognizes and complies with all federal,
state, and local laws regarding sale of alcohol to minors. All shipments
require an adult signature; proof of age will be verified by delivery
carrier. No deliveries will be made to a visibly intoxicated person.
On occasion the chosen vintage of
a wine will sell out or be replaced by a new release after your order
is placed. In such cases, The Magnificent Wine Company will substitute
with a comparable vintage. If you would rather be notified if your chosen
vintage is unavailable you can select "no" under "vintage
substitution" in your shopping cart. The Magnificent Wine Company
reserves the right to substitute a comparable vintage on wines under
$15.
The Magnificent Wine Company accepts
payment through the following credit cards: Visa®, MasterCard®, American
Express®, JCB® and Discover®.
Gift certificates are available in denominations of $25, $50, $75, $100, and $200. If you select the "Printed Gift Card" option, the Gift Certificate will be sent via US Postal Service and will arrive 5-7 business days from the date of purchase. If you select the Online E-card option, it will be sent immediately and a printed copy will be mailed to the recipient addresses you entered. You will also be sent a copy, by email, of the message sent to the Gift Certificate recipient.
To redeem a The Magnificent
Wine Company gift certificate, enter the gift certificate number on
the Billing Information screen during the checkout process. Once you
enter your gift certificate code, the full value of the gift certificate
will be credited to your Magnificent Wine Company account. You will
not need to enter the gift certificate number for future purchases.
Only one gift certificate may be redeemed per purchase. Please note
that you will still need to enter your credit card information, even
if your gift certificate covers the full amount of your order. As long
as the value of your gift certificate exceeds the price of the product
you are purchasing, no charge will be made to your credit card.
Price variations and product availability - why price and stock can differ by state
Many states have laws prohibiting retail shipments of alcohol over state lines, and in some states The Magnificent Wine Company must purchase our stock from in-state wholesalers and ship from an in-state warehouse.
As a result, we are subject to the pricing and availability of these local wholesalers, which may affect the retail price and search results when placing orders shipped to these states.
To be sure of seeing correct pricing and availability when shopping at The Magnificent Wine Company, please be sure to choose your shipping destination from the "select a shipping state" pull-down menu before you begin shopping.
If you change your shipping state after you begin shopping, items in your shopping cart may change price or be removed by our system.

Discounts, promotion codes, coupons - how to
redeem them on an order
To redeem a coupon or discount code on a The Magnificent Wine Company order, enter the code in the field provided just below the list of items you've ordered in your Shopping Cart. Once you've entered to code, click the "Update Cart" button near the bottom of the same page to see the impact on your order total.
Some specially priced items may be ineligible for additional discounts, and will include on their description pages a note that reads "(not eligible for promo code or case discount)." Only one promotion code can be used per order.
Credit card error in the shopping cart - what to do
Generally these errors are related to one of three problems:
- One or more fields was left blank in the Billing Information screen
- One or more fields contained
invalid data in the Billing Information screen
(for example, an incorrect expiration date, or transposed digits in the card number or address) - The billing name and/or address you provided don't match the information associated with the credit card entered
If you feel you have entered all your card information correctly, you may want to try another credit card for your The Magnificent Wine Company purchase - then contact the issuer of the first card to report the problem you experienced.

Gift certificates - how to redeem them on an order
To redeem a gift certificate
on a The Magnificent Wine Company order, complete your product selections
and click "proceed to checkout," then on the "Billing
Information" page enter the certificate number in the field provided
on the right side of the page.
Gift message - how to include one on an order
A link to Gift Options appears three times during The Magnificent Wine Company checkout procedure:
First, in the Shopping Cart, below your list of ordered items, there is a large field with a checkbox that reads "show gift options during checkout process."
Second, on the screen in which you enter the shipping address for your order, there is a large icon link (about 4" x 2.5"), decorated like a gift box, that reads in part "Click here to see our gift options" and "write a personalized gift message."
Third, in the Order Confirmation stage of your order, there is one more icon that reads "click for gift options" just below the list of products in your order.
Out of Stock Items - policy
Though we continually monitor inventory
to ensure product availability, there are times when products may be
out of stock. If that occurs, wine representatives are available to
suggest comparable substitutions. In cases where a substitution is necessary,
we will email you before shipping and provide the option to select other
items. If you decide not to make a substitution, we will ship available
items minus the out of stock item(s) or cancel the order if you prefer
to do so. Your credit card will not be charged until we ship your order,
and you will not be charged for out-of-stock items.
The Magnificent Wine Company Guarantee and Return Policy
At The Magnificent Wine Company, your satisfaction is very important to us. We are committed to delivering your product in excellent condition and in a timely manner. Order processing time is contingent upon credit card authorization, and does not include weekends or holidays.

Following wine-trade traditions, all
bottles ten years or older are purchased at the buyer's risk.
Dissatisfaction with the Quality/Taste of Wine Received
At The Magnificent Wine Company, we are proud to offer great values on the world's best wines. Our goal is to help you choose the wines that you will enjoy. To give you a balance of information, The Magnificent Wine Company displays ratings from several different well-noted publications. We also offer product reviews and lists of our top sellers; all to assist you with your purchasing decisions.
While ratings, testimonials and reviews
may influence your decision, the ultimate judgment is yours. Although
we work toward providing you with as much information as possible to
help you make a selection you will enjoy, we cannot guarantee that you
will like the taste of every bottle of wine you select. However, in the
event you do experience a problem with the quality/taste of a bottle,
please contact us (info@magnificentwine.com) within 30 days of your purchase date and
provide the details of your problem. If you would like to return an order
for taste reasons, we will issue a refund or account credit, less a
25% restocking fee upon receipt of the returned package.
Changing or cancelling an order
While we try our best to accommodate
order cancellation or change requests, the timing for such requests
is critical. Once our warehouse has begun packaging and shipping your
order, it is not possible to make any changes or stop the shipment.
Cancellation or change requests should be made as soon as possible after
placing your order by calling our Customer Care department during business
hours at 1-206-267-5256.
If we are not able to change or cancel an order because it is already
in process or shipped, recipients may refuse delivery if they no longer
want the order. Once the package arrives back at our warehouse, a refund
can be requested, less shipping and handling charges and a 25% restocking
fee.
Tracking your order status and delivery
The Magnificent Wine Company will
e-mail you a UPS Tracking # to track your order once it has been confirmed
and shipped.
Vintage substitution - wine shipped is a different year than wine
ordered
To help ensure we manage our customers' orders according to their preferences, The Magnificent Wine Company's shopping cart page has a field next to every bottle of wine ordered where the customer can choose "yes" or "no" to allowing vintage substitution if the vintage originally ordered is not available.
When "yes" is checked (which is our system default), our Wine Specialists will substitute a comparable vintage if the chosen vintage is no longer available. (Please note that due to rapid stock turnover at lower price-points, vintage substitution cannot be declined on wines under $15.)
If you do not wish to allow vintage-year substitution (on wines over $15), please check the "No" option when looking at the line items in your The Magnificent Wine Company shopping cart page.
Taxes - by state
State tax will be applied to orders
in CA, CT, FL, MA, MI, NJ, NY, NC, OH, TX, VA and WA. A state excise
tax will be charged for orders for LA, ND, NE, NH, NV, and WY.
Taxes collected by The Magnificent Wine Company
The Magnificent Wine Company is obligated to collect any state alcohol taxes when shipping to states where we have direct shipment certificates -- and in states where we have a warehouse from which we make in-state shipments, we must charge sales tax as well. State excise taxes are also charged by The Magnificent Wine Company on orders shipping to states that require them.
If your Magnificent Wine Company order
includes tax, your delivery state falls under at least one of these
categories.
Credit card charges - questions about billing
The charge applied to your credit card should match the total on your Invoice Confirmation email from The Magnificent Wine Company.
If you see what looks like more than one charge on your credit card record within the first 48 hours after your order, it is almost certainly just more than one approval. This occurs when your credit card company confirms more than once that you have enough credit for your Magnificent Wine Company transaction.
Ultimately there will be only one actual charge, and any extra approvals will disappear. You can confirm this with your credit card company.If your credit card company does indeed confirm more than one complete and finished charge ("settlements" in credit card company lingo), or if you have any other question about billing discrepancies, please visit our “Contact Us” area and submit your issue to info@magnificentwine.com.
